Helping life move forward.
Community response that connects immediate assistance with recovery, shelter, and renewed livelihoods.

Responding to the tsunami
CADRE-India’s documented response in Kanyakumari included needs assessment, food and medicine distribution, clothing, and counselling. Volunteers supported fishing communities and affected landless agricultural families.
Rebuilding homes
With Habitat for Humanity International, the organisation reported repairs to 211 houses in Kottilpadu and Colachel, followed by 30 in Simon Colony: 241 house repairs in the historical account.
Rebuilding livelihoods
Women’s masonry training connected practical skills with the housing programme and future work. Rehabilitation also included support for self-help groups and alternative livelihood skills.
Standing with flood-affected communities
Photographs from CADRE-India’s archive also document relief work for Kerala flood victims, including Kuttanad. Recovery grows through local relationships and practical support.
